  In the 1980's the Vigilante company based in the Bronx, New York, introduced a shrouded hasp which was a perfect partner for the shrouded padlock, especially when used to lock double-doors on trucks or for vending security. During the 1990s, many major lock companies both foreign and domestic introduced designs similar to the original Vigilante hasp. Today, the hockey puck style padlock and the shrouded hasp are the hardware of choice when heightened padlock security is required.

  Xperinetix Locking Systems (XLS) recognized the current need for high-security plus system compatibility. The interchangeable core, once only used by a select few, is now commonplace.
